Kalynn Sortino, PRESIDENT
Originally from Overland Park, KS Kalynn moved to Sioux City in 2011 to attend Briar Cliff University. There she played soccer while receiving her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Leadership Management. During the day, she can be found walking around Downtown Sioux City working with businesses as Downtown Partners Business and Entrepreneur Support Coordinator. There, Kalynn works to attract and retain businesses to build a forever growing and successful Downtown Sioux City. This is what led her to the Sioux City Growth Organization and shortly becoming a board chair for Innovation Market. Both Downtown Partners and SCGO have the same vision to attract, develop and retain professionals in Siouxland area, obviously this was a perfect fit! Her favorite pastimes include smiling, drinking coffee, practicing an “indoor voice”, and stopping to pet every dog that she passes.
Cassy Kaplan, VICE PRESIDENT
Cassy Kaplan was born and raised in Sioux City, but moved to Alabama in 2010 to attend college. While at the University of Alabama, she received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with minors in Creative Writing and Consumer Sciences, and a master’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations. She is currently the Advertising Coordinator at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. She became a member of SCGO in 2017 and was involved in the marketing committee before becoming the Marketing Committee board adviser on the 2018 board, and then the Vice President on the 2019 board. In her spare time, you can find her playing board games at Jackson Street Brewing, traveling with friends, and cheering on her beloved Crimson Tide.
Korey Kletschke, TREASURER
Korey Kletschke was born and raised in Sioux City. In 2008 he moved to Iowa City to attend college at the University of Iowa where he earned a B.B.A. degree in Finance. Korey began his investment career with an internship at Stifel’s home office in St Louis in 2011. After college, Korey moved to Cedar Falls to work for Principal Financial Group and eventually received a promotion that moved him to their home office in Des Moines. While at Principal, Korey decided to continue his education by earning the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College of Financial Services. In 2017, Korey returned back to Sioux City to work as a Financial Advisor with Stifel where he works with businesses, individuals and their families and nonprofits. Korey uses his expertise in investments and insurance to help his clients pursue their financial goals. In Korey’s free time he enjoys golfing, working out and traveling. Korey initially joined Sioux City GO as a way to meet other young professionals in the Siouxland area.
Karrie Meyerhoff, SECRETARY
Karrie Meyerhoff grew up in the small Northwest Iowa town of George. After high school she moved to Sioux City to attend Morningside College. While attending Morningside, Karrie worked at Central Bank and following graduation in 2015 she was given the opportunity to stay with Central Bank. Karrie went from a teller during college, to broadening her overall banking knowledge in the audit department right after college, to now working as a personal banker. Karrie first got involved with the Sioux City Growth Organization through Go University while attending Morningside. Since becoming a member in 2015, she has helped co-chair Go University and is now the Connect Committee board adviser. In her free time, Karrie can be found attending concerts, cozying up on the couch with a good book or binge watching Netflix, getting her competitive fix in while playing volleyball and slowpitch softball, and spending lots of time with her friends and family.
Sarah Davy, SPECIAL EVENTSSarah Davy is originally from the Twin Cities, but came to Sioux City to golf at Morningside College. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Corporate Communications and Marketing and from there gained a passion for health and wellness after an internship with the Blue Zones Project here in Sioux City. Sarah is currently a Preventive Health Specialist and Health Coach at IBC Insurance located right across the street from the Hard Rock. In her free time, she can be found going on walks at Bacon Creek, trying out new recipes, or out on the golf course in hopes of getting her second hole-in-one of her career! She also has a fur baby named Pete the Cat who she rescued from the Siouxland Humane Society.
Tyler Zellmer, MARKETING
Tyler is a Siouxland native, growing up in Hinton before moving to Sioux City to attend and then graduate from Briar Cliff University in 2007. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration along with a Marketing emphasis and played soccer all 4 years. After college, he gained experience in direct sales and the non-profit sector, and now has worked at Security National Bank within the Wealth Management Division for the last 3 years. Within his daily work, Tyler helps individuals to plan for their retirement along with handling trusts and estates for families. Tyler is very big on giving back to the community, which is where he got his start within SCGO, helping on the Civic Committee. In his spare time, Tyler appreciates relaxing with his wife and 5 children along with partaking in soccer events when possible.
Ryan Martinez, CIVIC
After graduating from Morningside College in 2015, Ryan has continued to stay involved and help develop the Siouxland community. With a growing need for volunteers, Ryan co-founded VolunteerSiouxland, Siouxland’s Online Volunteer Center, in 2018. One of Ryan’s passions is hosting community events that attract people to visit Sioux City. Most recently, Ryan organized the first-annual Siouxland Coffee Festival alongside his co-founder. In Ryan’s spare time, he is usually traveling with his wife, spending time with family and friends or playing Fortnite.
Sarah Keely, INNOVATION MARKET
After graduating from the University of Iowa, College of Law, Sarah moved to Sioux City in 2018 to become an attorney at Goosmann Law Firm. Holding Bachelors’ degrees in Creative Writing and English Literature from Loras College (Dubuque, IA) and Arts Management from Waldorf College (Forest City, IA), Sarah uses her communication and logistic skills to help families and businesses reach their goals. Outside the office, you’ll see Sarah running with her beloved Australian Shepard, Scout, working with the local community theatres, and at Sioux City GO events!
Kelsey Heino, CONNECT
Kelsey Heino was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa. From the age of 8, she knew she wanted to be a lawyer, but took a bit of meandering path to get there! She attended Iowa State University, graduating in 2011, then worked as a bank teller and workers’ compensation adjuster until fall of 2014. At that point, her LSAT score was about to expire, so she decided it was time to get that law degree. After graduating from UNL College of Law in 2017, she found a great career fit with Goosmann Law Firm. Working primarily in business disputes and employment law, she enjoys helping her clients put the puzzle pieces together to form a strong litigation strategy. Kelsey joined SCGO almost as soon as she moved to Sioux City, and has met some of her favorite people through the organization. She is very excited to spearhead this year’s events and activities for GO members through the Connect Committee. In her spare time, Kelsey works on her wine/beer aficionado status, attends concerts regularly, and loves finding new areas of Siouxland to explore.
